Battle Chasers: Nightwar is an RPG developed by THQ Nordic, available as a full version on Xbox One. The game has been inspired by classic console greats and features deep dungeon diving, turn-based combat, and a rich story driven by exploration of the world. The game is set in the desolate town of Harm's Way, where the player must prepare themselves for survival by choosing three of the many heroes they have unlocked, filling up their travel backpack with items from their stash, and making sure they have chosen the best equipment and abilities for each hero.

The overworld in Battle Chasers: Nightwar is presented in a classic form and in real time, filled with hidden dungeons, rare bosses, and randomly appearing friends and foes. The game also features a useful arsenal of Dungeon Abilities for every character. The game's combat system is old-school inspired by console RPG greats, with a unique two-tiered mana system and turn-based initiative, featuring random buffs and debuffs on initiative slots. The dungeons in the game are action-oriented, randomly generated, and loaded with traps, puzzles, and secrets. Each hero's unique dungeon skills must be used to survive.
